Rod Stewart and Beastie Boys Adam Yauch were both forced to pull out of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony with illness this weekend.
Yauch, who suffered Cancer in 2009, was unable to join his Beastie Boys bandmates at the event - issuing the following statement ahead of the ceremony on Saturday (April 14).
"Beastie Boys regret that Adam 'MCA' Yauch will be unable to join Mike 'Mike D' Diamond and Adam 'Ad-Rock' Horovitz at the band's induction into the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame.
"Mike, Adam and Adam are truly grateful for the honour but with only two of the three Beastie Boys attending, they will unfortunately not be able to perform at the ceremony."
Meanwhile, Rod Stewart was similarly unavailable for The Small Faces induction. "I'm absolutely devastated. Shattered that I'm going to miss my second induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame - and this time alongside my mates," he said.
Meanwhile, Guns n Roses frontman Axl Rose was booed at the ceremony on Saturday after he declined to appear alongside his bandmates.
