Prince has been slapped with a whopping £2.5m bill after being found guilty of contract fraud involving a fragrance company in America.
The diminutive pop star had agreed to promote 3121, a fragrance named after his album of the same name, by Revelations Perfume and Cosmetics in 2006. The deal included Prince giving a series of interviews and promotional appearances as well as the fragrance being given away at Prince gigs.
However, the star refused to do anything to promote 3121 and there was no sign of the product at his live dates on 2006.
Understandably, Revelations were unhappy with his and have sucesfully sued Prince for £2.5m with a US court demanding that he pay the money back in the case of fraud. Punitive damages were denied.
Prince plans to appeal the decision and subsequent fine.
