Linkin Park have collaborated with Arcade Fire violinist Owen Pallett on material that will feature on their new album 'Living Things'. According to NME, Linkin Park drummer Rob Bourdon contacted Pallett.

Mike Shinoda said of the partnership: "He did the strings on 'I'll be Gone'. I've not met him in person, though I think he may have met our drummer Rob. Those two were emailing back and forth. I really love what he did with the song and what he did with Arcade Fire is just sensational."

This is not the first time Pallett has strayed from Arcade Fire, as he has also helped Snow Patrol and REM with their string arrangements.

The band recently spoke of how confident they are about the material they've recorded for their fifth album.
