American Idol winner Carrie Underwood has announced her first ever UK show at the Royal Albert Hall.

The singer, who won the fourth series of the competition in 2005 is one of the most successful stars of the show, having sold over 12million albums since her victory. Her fourth album 'Blown Away' is due for release later this year.

Speaking to Digital Spy about the shows, Underwood says: "I'm starting at the top! I've been to the UK for pleasure before, but I've never been there as a singer.

"I'm curious as to how I will be received and if people will actually show up! I so hope they do."

Underwood has scored massive sales in the US with her country and western albums and singles, her biggest hit being her 2006 single, 'Before He Cheats'.

Tickets go on sale at 9am on 27 April, 2012. For more information visit Gigwise Gig Tickets.
