Graham Coxon has had to be evacuated from his hotel in Falmouth after the building caught fire and the roof collapsed.
A huge fire has ripped through the Falmouth Beach Hotel today (April 30) with staff and holidaymakers evacuated as the Cornwall fire brigade battle the blaze. There are no reports of any injuries though the roof of the hotel has collapsed.
The Blur guitarist is currently on a solo tour of the UK and is staying in Falmouth before his live show at the Princess Pavilions venue this evening.
Updating his Twitter followers about the incident, Coxon said: "We have rooms at the beach hotel and had to leave when the smell of smoke for a little much."
Adding: "We watched it... We had to leave the foyer and then watch it get worse and worse..rather sad." Coxon also posted a picture of the fire.
Everything seems to be OK for the Blur guitarist however, as he later posted a picture of the Cornish pasty he was having for his lunch.
A statement issued by Best Western, who run the Beach Hotel, said: "All guests have been evacuated and the emergency services are battling to get the blaze under control.
"We are currently trying to speak with the owner of the property to find out further information."
