Former Led Zeppelin frontman, Robert Plant is to debut his new band The Sensational Space Shifters next week - and has announced a new, upcoming live show.

The band consists of founding member Plant, alongside members from his former band The Strange Sensation’. With the low-key debut gig already announced in Gloucester, taking place next Wednesday May 8, Plant has confirmed that the new band will be also be playing at London’s Forum on Thursday July 12.

Justin Adams, who frequently collaborates with Plant and the band say that they are heavily influenced by “the roots of Mississippi, Appalachia, Gambia, Bristol and the foothills of Wolverhampton.” So expect an eclectic mix of sound from the newly formed Sensational Space Shifters if nothing else.

The band's current 2012 UK live dates are as follows. For more information, visit Gigwise Gig Tickets.

May 8: Gloucester Guildhall
June 12: London Forum
