It has been revealed that Courtney Love no longer controls the rights to Kurt Cobain's image or publicity after being paid off by daughter Frances Bean.

The outspoken Hole frontwoman reportedly lost control to the rights in 2010 when she was loaned $2.75m from Frances trust fund in return of the rights. When she repays the money she will regain the rights to Cobain's likeness, name, and appearance.

According to The Fix, Love is no longer Acting Manager of End of Music LLC, the business behind Cobain's publicity rights, and has no control over Cobain's or Nirvana's music, which is controlled by Primary Wave CEO Larry Mestel.

Interestingly, despite complaining and threatening to sue over the use of Cobain's image being used in Guitar Hero 5 in 2009, the legal papers reveal that Love had signed off everything and made it perfectly legal.

Frances Bean Cobain recently called for her Mother to be banned from Twitter after she made wild allegations regarding Dave Grohl.
