Labrinth denies slamming X Factor in tabloid interview

Labrinth has defended himself today after a newspaper quoted him as saying that he would never appear on The X Factor and branding the show 'absolute sh*t'.

'Earthquake' star Labrinth is signed to SyCo, Simon Cowell's record label, and is the only non-X Factor artist on the label. However, despite these connections, a Metro newspaper interview printed today (May 3) saw him laugh off the possibility of performing on the reality TV show when it returns later this year.

Asked by Metro, Labrinth was quouted as saying: ‘What do you think I should do? For me, I think it’s absolute s***.’Adding that he would only apppear to 'get more Twitter fans' and that he'd be an 'idiot' to do it.

Labrinth also found time to make fun of Simon Cowell's recently acquired lothario reputation, saying: "He’s gonna be on Loose Women next week or something like that. Sounds like he’s been a naughty boy, he’s been getting in there."

However, Labrinth has taken to Twitter to deny having made these claims. saying: "I've gotta give it to the metro paper for there amazing ability to reconstruct words in controversial bullsh*t."

Adding: "Come on now why would I shit on my own family. Lesson learned. It was a joke ha ha #detentionforlab." and: "Come on man I got my break a different way but The X Factor gives people a chance and U gotta respect that still."
