It had to happen. Adele's '21' has outsold yet another classic album in the UK's best selling albums of all time Top Ten. The latest to fall to the London soul singer's unstoppable collection is Michael Jackson's 'Thriller'.

'212' has now sold over 4,274,300 copies in the UK - nudging ahead of Jackson's 1982 classic by a mere 500 copies. However, with the album still in the UK Top Ten, that lead is sure to have extended into the thousands by the end of the week.

"To add to her many landmark records, Adele's achievement in overtaking Thriller in the all-time sales list is truly remarkable," says the Official Charts Company's managing director Martin Talbot of Adele's latest sales achievement.

"Thriller has long been recognised as one of the most iconic albums of all time - there is now no doubt that '21' can be spoken of in the same breath."

Adele's '21' is now the fifth biggest selling album in the UK of all time. Next on the list to fall? Oasis' '(What's The Story) Morning Glory?'...
