Red Hot Chili Peppers paid tribute to Beastie Boys Adam Yauch at a Newark concert on Friday night.
The band were close friends with Yauch before his death on Friday (May 4) and took to the stage the same night in homemade MCA t-shirts.
The band then peppered their set at the Prudential Centre with Beastie Boys classics such as 'So What'cha' Want' as well as playing old favourites 'Fight For Your Right (To Party) and 'Check Your Head' over the PA prior to their stage time. You can see video of the cover version below.
Chatting to the RHCP fans, lead singer Anthony Kiedis said: "We lost a good man today. He left the world a lot of beauty. I hope you carry that flame. Adam was for real."
Flea from the band had already made his tribute on Twitter, posting: "Prayers and all the love I could ever muster for Adam Yauch. What a beautiful man. God bless his beautiful soul. A class act all the way."
Adam Yauch sadly lost his battle with cancer on Friday, aged 47.
