DJ Huey Morgan has launched an astonishing attack on his 6Music colleague Lauren Laverne on Twitter overnight, accusing her of not selecting the music she plays on her show.

The Fun Lovin' Criminals star was seemingly angry at the results of The Sony Awards, held in London last night, where Fearne Cotton won an award for Best Music Show and 6Music took home the award for Best Station.

Clearly taking umbrage at Cotton's victory, Morgan Tweeted a string of insults aimed at her, Lauren Laverne, 6Music and other Twitter users criticising his actions. In particular he criticised Laverne for not picking her own music, saying she turned up at work and 'played on Twitter all morning' instead. He also claimed he was not allowed to sit at the 6Music table at the Sony awards.

Highlights of Morgans Tweets include:

"They ain't gonna let some dude from NYC win this sh*t. Fern, Lauren, Chris. Yeah right, that's cool? Suckers they come a dime a dozen... (sic).

"I am the peoples champ, don't need no award. Y'all know how it be."

"Ask me to cover for her (Laverne) and up her ratings. F*ck that sh*t. Kenickie? Please." "You got no idea what I put Into my shows. She just shows up and plays in twitter. Ain't that BS."

"Yo, Fern cotton won a gold award, sh*t is fake!"

He later tweeted: "I don't care about the awards y'all, it's the suckers hat get 'em that got me worried. now go live your life. I'll be back in a week's time."

Dealing with the overnight row first thing today, Laverne Tweeted to say: "Hey all, getting friction from someone I've always got on with on here. Very weird, not sure why. But just to be clear, I programme the music on my show every morning. I'd always hoped this was obvious from it being quite good, but apparently clarification would help."

Meanwhile, Morgan has deleted the offending Tweets and issued this apology: "I am sorry for my comments last night. If I offended anyone, I apologize. I will tweet no more. Goodbye and thank you for you reality check."
