X Factor judge Louis Walsh has said he is not a fan of The Voice UK, mocking the rival show and Black Eyes Peas star Will.i.am.
BBC launched their version of The Voice as a rival to ITV's X Factor but Walsh says he sees no competition between the two and openly criticised elements of the programme in a new interview with Heat.
Speaking to the magazine about Voice coach Will.i.am, Walsh, who has confirmed he will return to X Factor this year, says: ‘What’s that man’s real name anyway? It’s not Will.i.am, is it? He thinks he’s got all the answers but if he didn’t have Fergie in that band, where would he be?’
Adding: ‘The way he dresses at his age… what’s that silly glove all about?’
Continuing his rant, Walsh said: ‘I hate The Voice. I think everyone thought The Voice UK would be like the US version, and it’s not. It’s dull and boring. It’s like Fame Academy all those years ago." Adding: "The best thing about it are the revolving chairs, and once you’ve seen that, the novelty wears off."
The Voice has suffered a ratings crash in recent weeks with around 2 million viewers turned off by the live stage of the show.
