Will.i.am is reported to be producing an exclusive track, which is to be propelled into outer space.

Currently a voice coach on the BBC’s The Voice, The Black Eyed Peas rapper and singer has been hand-picked by NASA to produce a song that will be played during future missions to Mars, according to The Sun.

An unknown source has said, "NASA feel Will is the ideal figure to appeal to a mainstream audience and promote their technologies.”

The track, which will also appear on his next album, is not the first time Will has worked with the space agency. Having previously helped them on Twitter promote learning science in schools and has also recorded an announcement for NASA’s television channel.

Will.i.am has also recently voiced his opinions on the music industry, how it must embrace technology to avoid failure.
