Adele has been officially asked to headline Glastonbury next year, according to festival organiser Michael Eavis.

The hugely succesful '21' star famously does not perform at festivals and never has done, however Eavis is hoping the pull of topping the biggest festival in the UK could be enough to convince her to change her view.

Speaking to Metro, Eavis remained sceptical but said: "She knows that we want her anyway, but she doesn't want to do a thing our size. Going on the Pyramid Stage is a bit daunting in front of 80,000 people, it's a bit much really."

Eavis went on to say that he already had the names of some of the 2013 headliners booked and ready to announce.

Meanwhile, Adele was the big winner at yesterday's Ivor Novello awards, scooping two prizes alongside fellow winners PJ Harvey, Ed Sheeran and Lana Del Rey.
