New York City has paid tribute to Beastie Boys star Adam Yauch, who passed away earlier this month.
The rapper was a lifelong resident of the city and regularly showed his love for New York via the Beastie Boys music. He was honoured by the senate on Tuesday (May 15).
Passing a resolution which declared that it was "mourning the death of famed rapper and activist Adam 'MCA' Yauch", the senate highlighted that fact that Yauch "exemplified New York"
Describing Yauch as, "a man of colossal talent and charisma", they also hilighted his Pro-Tibet work as well as his movie production company, Oscilloscope Laboratories.
