Will.i.am has been criticised after he turned up at Oxford University to talk about climate change in a gas guzzling helicopter.

This comes just one day after The Voice coach and Black Eyed Peas star was spotted Tweeting from his phone as he carried the Olympic torch through Taunton.

Will arrived in Oxford to talk to students about climate change and things people can do to ensure the future of the environment. It is estimated his helicopter trip from London to Oxford used 71.5 gallons of fuel and saw three-quarters of a ton of CO2 pumped out into the atmosphere.

“Climate change should be the thing that we are all worried and concerned about as humans on this planet, how we affect the planet, our consumption, and how we treat the place that we live in,” Will told the students.

Meanwhile, The Voice's ratings continue to plummet with this weeks episode falling behind Countryfile in the ratings.
