Beastie Boys' Adam Horovitz has spoken for the first time since his bandmate, and best friend, Adam Yauch passed away earlier this month.
Yauch, better known as MCA, lost his battle with cancer at the start of May. Speaking to Rolling Stone about his feelings following the news, Horovitz says: "My wife is like, 'I want to make sure you're getting it out.' But then I'm walking the dog and I'll start crying on the street."
Continuing, Horovitz adds: "I don't believe Adam was afraid. Bummed out, yeah. But I can't think when I ever saw him afraid. We got jumped in Brooklyn one time, so we've been afraid in that sense. But, man, he hadn't been afraid in a long time. That gives me peace."
Elsewhere in the interview, conducted ten days after the death of Yauch, Horovitz speaks about his memories of making music with his friend and how talented he was as a rapper, producer and musician.
