Geri Halliwell's new X Factor role hasn't got off to the best start - as a Liverpool audience booed the former Spice Girls star for making a dig at Take That's singing skills.
Having joined the TV talent show panel alongside TT mastermind Gary Barlow, audiences took offence when she told an auditioning girl band that they were not in tune - adding "Not everyone in Take That can sing." Leading to a noisy response from the audience - and bemusement from Barlow.
Making a mark at her first live audition, Geri arrived at the Liverpool auditions hanging out of a car window yelling through a megaphone.
She refused to comment on whether she would become a permanent member of the judging panel however, saying when asked: "In life we’re all on audition.
"The Prime Minister is auditioning right now, we are all proving ourselves every single day of our lives.
"Between me and Gary we’ve had 22 number ones, that’s as much as the Beatles.
"But we’re still proving ourselves in this game. That is the industry."
Alongside Gary, Geri joined Tulisa and Louis Walsh as the talent show auditions began.
