Jimmy Page has revealed that he is 'hurt' not to have been asked by officials to perform at this Summer's Olympic Games in London.

The iconic Led Zeppelin guitarist was expecting to be asked by organisers to perform alongside the many music stars past and present who will help close the event, which kicks off in London next month. Page had performed at the last Olympic Games, representing Great Britain alongside Leona Lewis in 2008.

However, no invite was forthcoming.

Speaking to The Sun about his feelings over the snub, Page said: "Of course, I'm feeling rather hurt. We put so much into Beijing, but weren’t helped by the Chinese giving us next-to-no practice time."

Other artists involved in the Olympics in on way or another include Blur, Duran Duran, Elbow, Alfie Bow and Muse.
