Simon Le Bon expressed his anger at not being asked to perform at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee concert as part of Duran Duran this weekend.

The lead singer of the 'Rio' band was watching at home and, like many others, Tweeting along as he did so.

Making his feelings for Gary Barlow, organiser of the huge show, Le Bon said: "I absolutely wish that DD'd been part of the Jubilee concert. But it was a Gary B booking, and he didn't want us."

Adding: Jubilee concert... Well... Gary Barlow, I have to say, I am in the least - underwhelmed... Well, at least we have Sir Paul McCartney's 'willy dance' to look forward to. He is on it, right?"

Held outside Buckingham Palace, the Jubilee concert saw performances by Sir Paul McCartney, Sir Elton John, Stevie Wonder, Sir Tom Jones, Dame Shirley Bassey and Ed Sheeran amongst many others.

Duran Duran will, however, be performing as part of the Olympic Games - headlining a concert on a bill which also includes Paolo Nutini, Snow Patrol and Stereophonics.
