Coinciding with the announcement of their European tour this winter, First Aid Kit will be releasing their brand new single ‘Blue’, taken from their recent LP ‘The Lion’s Roar’ on June 25.

Shielded in a case of country folk pop the Swedish sisters are known for, the beautifully haunting ‘Blue’ intertwines the the two harmonies to create the effect of one solatry, echoing voice. The girls use heart-breaking lyrics about the death of a loved-one and the struggle to find you again, which effectively stir the emotions of the listener. The single is introduced with plucky strings against an acoustic backdrop, before merging into a somewhat juxtaposed uplifting melody, full of satisfying beats and an almost music-box tone. Ultimately a beautiful, yet chilling single.

The melancholy ‘Blue’ will be released on June 26, this year and will be played as the duo support Jack White this June and July.
