Cheryl Cole has rhit back at critics of her recent 'live' performances, saying it is ridiculous to expect her to sing as well as Mariah Carey at her live shows.
The singer was the subject of many a raised eyebrow when she performed on The Voice last month. Despite claiming to have sung live, many questioned her pitch-perfect performance, especially after a less than flawless live vocal at the Queen's Jubilee concert. Now, the singer has hit back at her critics.
"I am very aware of my ability," she tells The Sun newspaper. "I know I'm no Mariah Carey but I think the emotion in the song is what matters."
"It's making people feel what you're singing about."
She also adds that her new album is meant to do nothing more than make fans have a good time.
"My new album is designed to entertain and I know when I take to the stage and I see a million little lights it really is game time," she added. "I am so excited to be back out there on tour. It's the best part of what I do and I can't wait."
She made further light of the miming claims during an interview with Greg James on Radio One, saying after the DJ played her track: "See, I just mimed all the way through it again."
