Radiohead have paid and emotional tribute to drum technician Scott Johnson, who died following a stage collapse in Toronoto this weekend.

As reported on Gigwise, Radiohead's show in Toronto was cancelled after three people were injured and a worker killed following the stage collapse at Downsview Park, Toronto just hours before their performance. It has since been confirmed that it was Johnson who died of injuries sustained during the accident.

Scott Johnson was Radiohead's drum technician and also worked with bands such as Keane and White Lies.

Speaking about their friend and colleague in a blog post, Radiohead drummer Philip Selway said: "We have all been shattered by the loss of Scott Johnson, our friend and colleague.

"He was a lovely man, always positive, supportive and funny; a highly skilled and valued member of our great road crew. We will miss him very much.

"Our thoughts and love are with Scott's family and all those close to him."

Canadian authorities are due to begin an investigation into the Downsview Park accident.
