Kate Nash has hit back at critics of her recently revealed 'Under-Estimate The Girl' track, saying she will never record pop music again.

After Kate Nash’s latest song received a lot of criticism, the singer-songwriter took to her blog to write a response to the negative views.

She said that she will never return to making the same kind of pop music that featured on her first two albums, choosing instead to follow a more angst and punk driven sound.

Kate wrote: “I’m extremely proud of the work I have done on both of my albums before now… But just to let you all know, I will never make those albums ever again.”

She went on to talk specifically about ‘Under-Estimate The Girl’, which critics have referred to as a “joke.” Kate said: “I wrote this song one night after rehearsal and I was emotional and p***ed off and I wanted to shout about it.”

She finished by saying: “I’m just sick of crap uninspired chart music, bullies and sexism. I’ve been hurt and I’m angry and playing bass and shouting about it makes me feel better. That’s all it is. And if that freaks people out then good.”

Kate’s new album will be released later this year.
