Black Eyed Peas star and Cheryl Cole producer Will.i.am took race-related comments from UK actress Miriam Margoyles on a TV chat show in good humour, when she spoke of how nice is was to meet a 'black person'.

The rapper was appearing on The Graham Norton show alongside the Harry Potter actress when she admitted she was fascinated with the 'Heartbreaker' star.

"I'm just fascinated by you because unfortunately, I don't know many black people, except in showbusiness - and that's what's so nice," she said - as the audience gasped at her comments. "I don't know much about rappers, you're the first one I've actually talked to."

Will.i.am was unphased by the actress's comments, as he taught her the meaning of the words 'homeboys' and 'old school' after saying: "I'm the first rapper and black dude you kicked it with."

Margoyles also spoke of her huge admiration for the star, adding: "You're fabulous, you really are... You're making a difference, and that's what we all want to do in our lives. How unexpected that this rapper would do this!"
