Bad news for Canadian fans of US band The Used - the rockers have been denied permission to perform in the country for ten years due to the Bert McCracken's criminal record.

The band had been scheduled to tour Canada but were forced to cancel the shows earlier this month. Now, the frontman has revealed Canadian fans will have quite a wait before the band can perform live in their country.

"They won't let me in. They said not for 10 years," says McCracken in an interview with Rolling Stone magazine. "It's weird, they're like, 'You need to rehabilitate these crimes before you come back to Canada.' I'm like, 'What does that mean?'"

He adds that he believes Canadian authorities are overreacting to his criminal record for minor incidents, adding: "When I say criminal record, I'm talking teensy, eensy misdemeanors they still have on my record from, like, 2001 and 2003 - trespassing."

He also revealed plans to perform shows close to the Canadian border so fans can drive to nearby concerts.
