The young child seen on the front cover of Placebo's self-titled debut album is suing the band for the bullying he claims to have received after appearing on the album artwork.

The youngster, who was seen pulling a face on the front cover of the 1996 release, claims the band used the photo without his permission and that he suffered taunts and was eventually forced to quit school completely.

"Within a week it was out in the shops, says unemployed chef David Fox. "It was in Virgin, it was in HMV, it was in Tesco, it was all over the place. I was watching EastEnders with my mum and I saw one of the billboards by the Tube station and it had my face on there."

The photograph was taken by Fox's cousin, a professional snapper.
