Eric Cantona was united with fellow Manchester icons The Stone Roses last night when the football star turned out to watch The Stone Roses perform in Lyon, France.
The former Manchester United striker was in attendance at the Justice Tonight concert, organised to benefit the victims of the Hillsbrough disaster, with many fans hoping to see the ex-pro jump on stage with Ian Brown et al. However, it was Clash guitar player Mick Jones and his band that Cantona eventually joined, performing a rousing version of 'Should I Stay, Or Should I Go?' for the French gig-goers.
The Stone Roses European dates have acted as a warm up for this weekend's huge shows in Manchester's Heaton Park and have been action packed to say the least.
In Amsterdam the band had an on-stage bust up with drummer Reni refusing to take part in an encore whilst at a Danish festival Ian Brown mimed wiping his backside with an England flag handed to him by an audience member.
The Stone Roses play Manchester's Heaton Park on June 29 - July 1. For more information, visit Gigwise Gig Tickets.
