Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips has said he may remake the controversial video for his Erykah Badue duet ‘The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face.’
The clip shows Erykah Badu and her sister lying naked in a bath full of what appears to be blood and semen. It appeared online earlier this month but was removed after one day due to protests from Badu.
The soul singer claimed that she felt 'violated' by its contents and said that Coyne should have sent it to her first for approval.
However, Coyne told NME that Badu “knew what she was getting into.”
He said: “When she said that to me, I took it as ‘I’m going to show you that the way I love you is that I'm going to scratch your face off and we're going to go for it.’”
When talking later to MTV, the Flaming Lips frontman spoke of wanting to remake the video with Amanda Palmer. He said: “At the moment I’m talking with Amanda Palmer about remaking the video and having Amanda sing it and just be in the video.”
