Rihanna has expressed her sadness at the passing of her Grandma, who lost her battle with cancer this weekend.
The 'We Found Love' star broke the news to her Twitter followers when she Tweeted to say: "Goodbye #grangranDOLLY get your beauty rest until I see you..." later adding, "#grangranDOLLY that is all."
Clara 'Dolly' Braithwaite had been ill for some time and was staying in hospital in New York at the time of her death. Rihanna recently delayed a trip to Europe to spend time with Dolly in the hosiptial.
Ex-boyfriend Chris Brown's manager/mum Joyce Hawkins also got involved, Tweeting, "ANGEL MAY GOD BE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY IN YOUR TIME OF SORROW. LOVE YOU ANGEL." The note prompted Rihanna to reply, "@mombreezy thank you! Love u mama."
The news of Rihanna's Grandmother puts a new light on reports emerging this weekend of a disastrous festival performance from the star at Sweden's Peace and Love festival.
Fans claimed that Rihanna appeared 'drunk' as she turned up onstage 45 minutes late and spoke about the Anders Breivik tragedy, which happened in neighbouring Norway.
