Linkin Park are today celebrating after earning a number one spot with their latest album 'Living Things'.

The US metal act went straight to the top of the Official UK Album Chart with their latest effort, holding off fellow new entries from Maroon 5 and Flo Rida respectively.

Radio 1's Hackney Weekend had a clear effect on sales figures with Ed Sheeran, Emeli Sande, Kanye West and Jay-Z and Rihanna all featuring in the top ten.

Meanwhile, Will.i.am has grabbed a solo number one single alongside Eva Simons. 'This Is Love' sold over 100,000 copies on its way to the top, easily outselling the nearest new entry, Chris Brown's 'Don't Wake Me Up.'.

Muse's huge fan base proved lucrative once again with their Olympic song 'Survival' charting at 25, despite only being available for a few days.
