Will there be any bands left by the end of 2012? They're dropping like flies with Swedish House Mafia and Hundred Reasons the most recent to call quits on their time together. They join a long line of bands who have already announced their split this year or have lost a member this year already.

Swedish House Mafia annouced their split saying all three members of the European dance trio wanted to pursue solo success, while Hundred Reasons announced two gigs to celebrate their career - and give them a send off in style.

Previously this year, the likes of Viva Brother called time on their career (only to re-emerge as an electronic band) while Mystery Jets and Editors were forced to make a line-up change while Black Sabbath and Sigur Ros lost a member of the band from their tour line-up. Check out the break-ups, departures and musical casualties of 2012...
