Rihanna has pulled out of a scheduled performance at a Spanish festival to mourn the death of her grandmother, who died on the weekend.

Clara 'Dolly' Braithwaite died on Saturday, 30 June 2012, and Rihanna performed a show in Sweden that same night - and was heavily criticised by fans for seeming drunk on stage and apparently miming during the show.

To avoid further criticism, and to take time off to grieve for her grandmother, Rihanna has now cancelled her appearance at the Rock In Rio festival in Madrid.

She previously expressed her sadness on Twitter, paying tribute to her grandmother after losing her fight with cancer.

"Goodbye #grangranDOLLY get your beauty rest until I see you..." later adding, "#grangranDOLLY that is all," she Tweeted.
