Punk legend John Lydon (Johnny Rotten) last night argued with a Conservative MP about legalising drugs on BBC's political debate show, Question Time. See the video below.

The rocker appeared on the show alongside Conservative MP Louise Mensch, with whom he argued over the issue. Mensch spoke out against legalising drugs, causing Lydon to share his own views - saying it should be the individual's choice over what substances they put in their body.

"I don't see why these things should be illegal if the correct information is out there," he said to the Tory MP. "Here's the problem - you can kill yourself with two tablespoons of table salt. Are you now going to ban table salt? Let us as human beings determine our own journey in life."

He also shared his views on the current banking crisis, saying that all political parties are too involved with the banking industry to fully investigate wrongdoings fully.

"How on earth is Parliament going to discuss this really when both sides, left and right, are connected to this? This doesn't just go back to Brown, this is part of the ongoing problem. Mr Diamond comes from Wall Street... hello."
