The former beauty queen found hiding in a cupboard, covered in blood in Simon Cowell's £9m London walked free from court yesterday.

Leanne Zaloumis, 30, has escaped jail time for breaking into the X Factor boss's home after breaking in and smearing her own blood over the walls of the mansion.

Zaloumis is said to have 'grinned' and given a thumbs-up when told she would not be prosecuted for breaking into Cowell's home.

The former beauty queen climbed onto a flat roof at his home and smashed a bathroom window - injuring herself in the process. Disturbing Cowell, who was at home at the time, the music mogul entered the room to find Zaloumis outside the window screaming, covered in blood and holding a brick above her head.

When police arrived she was hiding inside a walk-in wardrobe in Cowell's home, hiding on a shelf 7ft off the floor. When approached by police, Zaloumis said: "Listen to me, someone is trapped in here," before later telling the arresting officers, "Simon knows me. I didn’t break in, I was already in the house."

Zaloumis, who is originally from Zambia, was spared jail having already spent three months on remand - which the judge deemed was enough punishment for her crime.
