Paul McCartney has revealed that he is working on new music with Halo creators for an as-yet unrevealed project.
McCartney posted on his Twitter page that he was "really excited to be working on writing music with Bungie."
It is unclear at the moment as to why the former Beatle is working with the 'Halo' creators, but for whatever reason it seems the resulting product will not be appearing on the upcoming 'Halo 4' game, as the latest in the series is being produced by 343 Studios.
McCartney's collaboration with Bungie comes as no surprise however, as earlier this year The Daily Express claimed that he wanted to make music for the console industry because he thinks it's easier to make money in games than it is in CDs.
McCartney told German publication Die Zeit "It's a fascinating market. A new computer game sells so much better than a new CD these days."
The former Beatle suggested that he was making this move in order to reach a younger audience by going on to say "young people will hear my music for the first time in game."
McCartney has previous experience of performing in video games, with his likeness being used in the game The Beatles: Rock Band.
