Beyonce spoken up in support of Frank Ocean's recent revelation of a love affair with a man in a post on her personal Tumblr profile.
Beyonce posted a picture of Ocean with an inspirational 11-line poem laid over the top of the image. The poem includes phrases such as "Be Fearless", "Be Open" and "Be Inspiration". Her sister Solange has also expressed public support for the artist.
Beyonce's support comes after her husband Jay Z posted an article entitled 'Thank You, Frank Ocean' on his website, lifeandtimes.com.
The New York Times noted that some of Hip Hop's most active tweeters have remained quiet on the matter. Artists such as Drake and Nicki Minaj have all stayed silent on the topic, and even anti-homophobic lyricist and former collaborator Kanye West is yet to pass comment. This has lead journalists and members of the industry to discuss Hip Hop's renowned discomfort with homosexuality.
Ocean is continuing with live performances and promotion for his upcoming album 'Channel Orange' and appeared on Jimmy Fallon's TV show last night. Tweeting today, Ocean wrote "back in los angeles already. had fun on fallon. thanks to everybody that was part of it. channel orange. channel orange. channel orange."
