Trent Reznor has revealed that he has written the official theme song for Call of Duty: Black Ops II, due out later this year.
Speaking about his contribution to the eagerly anticipated computer game, Reznor described the song as "aggressively sounding" guitar rock in keeping with a game that "envisions a new Cold War between the U.S. and China."
Revealing all to USA Today, Reznor said: "There is a lot of reservations and angst and sense of loss and regret and anger bubbling under the surface. So it didn't make sense to have a gung ho patriotic kind of theme song. It has to feel weighty."
Reznor has moved away from making music in his traditional Nine Inch Nails guise recently, working instead on soundtracks for The Social Network and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.
Meanwhile, Sir Paul McCartney recently revealed that he too is branching out and working on music with the makers of Halo.
