Frank Turner has revealed that he has started writing songs in the vein of his former band Million Dead and that he is putting a band together to play them live.

Turner started out in the post-hardcore band Million Dead before going solo and dropping the heavier sound for his acoustic guitar and non-stop touring.

However, the lull of the mosh-pit has proven too much and Turner is back writing what describes as 'depraved' songs, including one about Black Swan actress Natalie Portman and her (fictional) tapeworm.

"Lyrically it's very different from what I do now, it's kind of depraved," Turner told NME. "The first song we wrote is about Natalie Portman's tapeworm using her as a glove puppet to lead an uprising in Hollywood. We're writing a whole pile of new songs and we're going to do some live dates soon."

Talking about the make-up of his new band, Turner revealed: "It's me, it's Ben Dawson who played me in Million Dead and Matt Nadir who plays in the Sleeping Souls, my backing band. Musically it's taking cues from bands like Jesus Lizard, Hot Snakes, McClusky."

Turner also revealed that he plans to release a new solo album in early 2013 and has around 25 songs in demo form for the record.
