Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker has confirmed that he will not perform with the band during some of their overseas gigs next year as he continues to battle a fear of flying.
Barker's fear stems from the infamous plane crash he was involved in in 2008 which killed his friend, DJ AM.
Speaking about his fear and how he hopes to overcome the issue for the sake of his kids, Barker told Red Bulletin: "It's hard to say what the band could do or what its potential is, because I can’t really get everywhere."
Adding: "I'm contemplating getting knocked out and getting on a plane to Australia. I want to overcome that eventually. My kids are scared to death to fly. I want them to witness me overcome it."
The substitute drummer will sit in for Barker during gigs in Australia next year, a country which requires a 24 hour flight to travel to.
