Nile Rodgers, of disco band Chic fame, has announced that he is working with La Roux on their new album.
Rodgers was speaking to the Daily Star when he mentioned the collaboration, saying: “I totally fell in love with La Roux, it was just insane.
“I only work with people who are monsters, and I was impressed with how organic and cool Elly was. She's the person that's in my cross-hairs right now.”
He added that he prefers working with British artists even though he himself is American, saying: “British artists have a stronger knowledge base of music, it's always experimental.”
Elly Jackson, the singer of La Roux, also seemed excited about working with Rodgers, and revealed that the two are going to sing a duet at a Swiss festival tomorrow (13 July).
Jackson wrote on Twitter: “For those of you that don't know I'll be singing with Nile Rodgers at the Montreux jazz fest on Friday night. Footage will hopefully follow.”
La Roux have been working on the follow-up to their 2009 self-titled debut album since the beginning 2011.
