50 Cent has showed public support for Frank Ocean, following the Odd Future (and solo) star's admissions of a gay love affair.

Ocean recently spoke of his love for a man in a letter that he posted on his Tumblr, and 50 Cent is the latest celebrity to respond.

50 Cent said: “Anyone that has an issue with Frank Ocean is an idiot.

“I think Frank Ocean is a talented artist, I think he's created material that made me know his name, that impressed me, with things he said on a song like ‘Novacane.’”

The rapper did go on to imply that Ocean was clever with his timing, as the letter was posted shortly before the release of Ocean’s ‘Channel Orange.’

He added: “You can call it brave or you can call it marketing, because it was intentional – it wasn't an accident.

“There are artists before who have made these choices, just not having made the choice to expose it to the general public before an actual release of music.”

He finished by referencing US President Obama, saying: “Obama is for same-sex marriage. If the president is saying that, then who am I to go the other way?”

50 Cent is the latest celebrity to speak of his support after Adele and Beyonce also reached out to Ocean.
