Paul Weller has revealed that getting married has seen his song-writing ability increase.
Weller is already looking forward to starting work on his next album in October, despite his last album being released in April, and says that since he married his wife Hannah he can’t stop writing love songs.
His next single ‘The Attic’ was inspired by his wife and by being away from home and Weller shows no sign of stopping.
Speaking to the Daily Star at Latitude Festival, Weller said: “Love has always inspired me but I’m writing even more love songs than usual at the moment.
“Love is the main theme of my new lyrics and I’ve got an itchy feeling that I want to make a new album as quickly as I can.”
Weller also said that he wants the next album to be more traditional and a break from his previous two experimental albums.
He finished by saying: “The last two records, I’d make it up in the studio on the spot from tiny scraps of ideas.
“That’s been really liberating but if I kept doing that it’d become a formula too.
“So for my next album I’m totally open minded and I might go back to writing traditional songs.”
Paul Weller’s Jordell Bank show recently had to be cancelled due to bad weather.
