The record is called ‘Former Lives’ and is due out in October of this year – 15 October in the UK and Europe through label City Slang, and 16 October in the US through Gibbard’s former label Barsuk.

 

This will be Gibbard’s first full length solo album which will feature 12 previously unheard songs spanning the length of his career.

 

Speaking to Stereogum about the record, Gibbard said: “I’m really proud of the tunes and how they came together in the studio, and I’d like to hope that that’s enough to carry and justify the record.”

 

Gibbard is also going to announce a small tour in support of the album.
