Charlie Sheen would be "genuinely interested" in becoming an American Idol judge, the Hollywood actor has revealed.
Sheen was on On Air With Ryan Seacrest speaking about the reality show, when Seacrest noted that producer Nigel Lythgoe had mentioned something about offering Sheen the opportunity.
Sheen confirmed that he had heard the rumour but hadn't been contacted by the Idol team directly.
He explained: "It kind of came out of nowhere and I responded with a quote, just to sort of check the temperature of it or test the waters. Haven’t heard anything back. I guess it got some people curious."
Sheen spoke about his conditions for taking on the role, saying that the producers would have to match 20% of his salary to two foundations of his choosing. He also said that it would be dependent on whether TV network FX would allow him to do it.
Sheen then went on to talk about giving feedback to contestants, saying he would be "very honest but not, like, [create] any suicidal moments."
Seacrest said he would pass the message onto the producer, which Sheen seemed very excited about.
The 'Anger Management' star said: "Seriously, tell him I'm genuinely interested. It’s so different, it could be radical."
Other possible judges include Aretha Franklin and Adam Lambert, who has previously said he would 'jump' at the role.
