Rocker prefers Kylie and Timberlake to Gaga
Marilyn Manson has admitted that he prefers Justin Timberlake's music to Lady Gaga's, saying he has 'a hard time' enjoying Gaga's music.
Despite Lady Gaga openly crediting Manson as a major influence, even managing to persuade the goth-rocker to appear on the Chew Fu Ghettohouse Fix remix of her 'LoveGame' single in 2009, Manson has spoken out about his Timberlake preferences.
Speaking to Digital Spy about the 'Born This Way' singer, Manson explained: "I like the general idea of what she's about.
"I have a hard time liking her music. It's not my style of music that I like, and I like a lot of music that is in that vein.
"I like Kylie Minogue sometimes - I like a lot of unusual stuff... I don't know - I like Justin Timberlake over Lady GaGa, just musically."
He went on to further explain his comments, adding that he does not mean that he dislikes her personally.
Manson added: "I get the whole idea of what she's doing and I appreciate that. I don't think it's a bad thing, I think it's a good thing.
"At the same time, I don't try to have a different look every single moment because I think it's more ephemeral, it becomes less permanent. People like to identify with one single thing.
"I'm not one to knock her, she's obviously succeeded in what she's doing. It's not exactly the type of thing that I find myself listening to, but that doesn't mean I don't like her."
Manson recently announced a joint UK tour with Rob Zombie to take place later this year.
