Bruce Springsteen performed a surprise duet at the first of his two Dublin gig on Tuesday (17 July, 2012) with six-year-old Sophie Sutton.
The youngster was chosen from audience members to sing with The Boss at his Ireland gig, as he plucked the young fan from her father's shoulders to join him on stage. Sophia performed 'Waitin' On A Sunny Day' with Springsteen in front of 35,000 fans as he held the microphone up to the youngster.
"I think Bruce was a little taken by Sophie and she was lapping it up. We were in the pit and I had Sophie on my shoulders. Bruce had spotted Sophie earlier and gave her a guitar pick," said Sophia's father Paul Sutton, a huge Springsteen fan.
"That was brilliant in itself, but when he came to picking someone from the audience he looked straight at her.
"She went off with no hesitation at all, it was just amazing, a real highlight to a fantastic concert."
Springsteen also used his Dublin show to hit back at his Hard Rock Calling performance in Hyde Park last weekend, when the power was cut when he over-ran his curfew. He wheeled on stage a huge fake on/off switch and declared 'No one but the Boss can pull the plug'.
