With the news that 'old' albums are selling more than recently released records, it comes as no surprise to hear that Adele's 21 album is still selling well - and approaching the 10million mark.
21 has currently sold 9.57million copies - with a US boost last week as sales of 35,000 sent the record to the top of the US charts. she has also surpassed Alanis Morisette's 72-week run in the US album Top Ten with her album, Jagged Little Pill.
21 is currently the fifth biggest selling album in the UK of all time - having toppled Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' in May 2012. UK sales at that point then stood at 4,274,300 - but the album remains in the Top Twenty and the next album set to fall to the power of 21 is Oasis' '(What's The Story) Morning Glory'.
