On 23 July, 2011, the world lost a true soul star when Amy Winehouse was found dead at her London home aged 27. Alcohol was eventually blamed after an inquiry into her death.
Amy recorded just two full studio albums and released only nine solo singles while alive, but her status as an artist is one of history. Her success was so great, and sound so unique, that she has inspired a generation of artists and brought classic soul sounds back to the music mainstream.
Indeed, without Amy's influence we'd have no Adele, Plan B may never have recorded 'The Defamation Of Strickland Banks' and Lana Del Rey may never have pouted her way into our hearts with her 'Video Games' and 'National Anthem'.
In tribute to Amy Winehouse, check out the artists she inspired to greatness.
