New X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger was more than a little put out when she was sat in economy class during a flight from London to LA by talent show staff.
The Pussycat Dolls star, who slips into Kelly Rowland's seat on the 2012 season of The X Factor, was returning to Los Angeles after the show's bootcamp stages and was horrified to find she had been booked into steerage with commoners.
"Nicole was fuming. She always flies first-class but she was amazed to find that she had been booked into economy," an airport source tell The Sun newspaper. "The X Factor books all of her flights - but she hadn't expected this."
Adding to the shame, Scherzinger was unable to use her star power to earn an upgrade and had to fork out £3,500 for an upgrade.
"Nicole spent 20 minutes trying to get BA to upgrade her but in the end she had to put her hand in her pocket," the source added.
It was recently revealed that this year's X Factor will be packed with flops from 2011, with fan favourite Jade Richards once again in the running for a place in the show finals.
